I know that you guys have probably seen a ton of other people do this, but I finally decided to try!
I have my four MAC eyeshadow palettes and they were almost all full, so I was thinking about ordering some new ones. But then I remembered seeing this little trick of removing the plastic piece with the circle cutouts. Removing that piece of plastic provides lots more space to fit extra eyeshadows.
Not only does it make room for more MAC shadows, but now I can put any shape or size shadow in my palette from any brand! I seriously don’t know why I never did it before, lol.
Now I have room for all of my soon-to-be depotted shadows and I don’t even have to buy a new palette for a while. Yay!
I love synthetic hair wigs because they are cheap and they keep their shape, but they generally tangle easily and only last a couple months.
A human hair wig, on the other hand, would not only look more realistic, but it would also allow me to style it to my liking. It would probably last longer as well.
I am always compelled to try a human hair wig, but my conscious (and my wallet) keep me from doing so. Ever since I saw a video from BeckaofSweden a while back about where human hair comes from, I have had reservations. Human hair wigs and weaves generally come from Indian women who shave their heads for religious purposes and have no idea where their hair is going and how much it is worth.
I want a human hair wig, but I am trying to stick to my morals. What do you guys think about human hair wigs and weaves?
-You can skip this kit if you already have a decent makeup collection; but they would make okay x-mas gifts.
One full sized brush, and two eyeshadows for only $12.99. Totally amazing deal, especially since its actually worth $52.
Nice neutral eyeshadow colors that will work well for anyone. Great beginner colors.
The brush is full sized (I hate short handled brushes).
The brush fell apart as soon as I opened the package. I was excited because this is the most amazing deal I have seen from Smashbox. A brush like that would be at least $20 on its own. Now I know why it is so cheap; because it was made cheaply. I bought two and both brushes basically have no glue connecting the wooden handle to the metal.
Considering the fact that it is only $13, it is worth the buy. You get two pretty decent shadows, and a nice brush (if you super glue it together yourself.) If you already have a pretty extensive makeup collection, this won’t be too exciting, but I think they would make great gifts. The shadows are really nice basic colors and worth buying even if you throw out the brush. I might even buy a couple of kits to give away (if you guys don’t mind me gluing the brush handles, lol).
EDIT 11/25/09: Although a lot of the kits have faulty brushes, if you ask the sales people to open the kit for you, you can check to see if the brush is glued together properly. Some of them are. I returned my one of my kits (for the contest) to get one that wasn’t falling apart.
